Summit Outline
This year, the summit format will be modified slightly from in the past. Thursday will feature a film presentation. Friday will consist of a peace rally and cultural meet and greet. On Saturday, there will be a plenary session and three series of four workshops, each broken down according to theme. These will include healthcare initiatives, peace policies, economic justice, and the environment.
Thursday, April 2
7:00 pm: Film entitled "Why We Fight" (Sundance Film Festival Jury Award Winner) at the Earth House, 237 N. East Street, Indianapolis
Friday, April 3
4:30 - 5:30 pm: Statewide Peace Rally in front of the Federal Building (Corner of Pennsylvania and Michigan).
Saturday, April 4
8:00 - 9:00 am:
Registration; a light breakfast will be offered.
The
IPJN will also be hosting a meeting from 8:00 am to 9:00.

9:00 - 10:30 am: The first Summit plenary session will be held discussing
Challenging the War Economy
in room IT 167.
Moderator will be Harry Targ, Purdue University.
Speakers will be Alison Luthe, Central Indiana Jobs with
Justice; Erin Polley, American Friends Service Committee; and
Marc Bilodeau, IUPUI Economics Department.
10:45 - 11:45 am: The first workshop session will consist of four different workshop options and one video screening. Session topics and their room location in the IT building will be announced in early March.
12:00 - 1:30 pm: A free lunch will be offered at the summit. This will also be an opportunity for informal reports and commentary from activist groups.
1:45 - 2:45 pm: The second round of four workshop sessions will consist of six different workshop options. Session topics and their room location in the IT Building will be announced in early March.
3:00 - 4:00 pm: The third round of workshop sessions will consist of four different workshop options. Session topics and their room location in the IT Building will be announced in early March.
4:30 - 6:00 pm: The Keynote Lecture: this year’s distinguished lecturer will be Norman Finkelstein, former professor at DePaul University and author of numerous books on Middle Eastern affairs. The title of his address will be:
Israel and Palestine: Roots of the Conflict, Prospects for Peace.

6:00 - 7:00 pm: A free light dinner will be served on-site.
7:00 - 8:30 pm: An evening with Yuval Ron, composer for the 2007 Oscar winning film, “West Bank Story.” The evening will open with a showing of this short film, followed by a question and answer session with Yuval Ron. The evening will conclude with a musical performance by Ron of a medley of Jewish and Arabic sacred music.
